Sustained Investigation # 2
Ideas: I wanted to have a stairway leading upward toward the platonic penacle of intellect. In figure, I was representing plato’s emphasis of the mind.
Processes: I stacked dominoes, initially planning a simple staircase, but decided to place another staircase precariously on top of the first. It was not complicated enough.
Materials: in my sister’s apartment, I incorporated the domino figure into the background.

ReplyDelete+ Very interesting idea to try and convey the pursuit of idealized intellect with the use of game pieces (games could be a very clever vehicle for your series! instead of rope).
-Not a clear meaning, we don't see the pursuit of intellectualism at all. (This could be a picture of what a child built while playing with dominoes).
-Background is distracting. (If photography is your medium, use a sheet or white wall, or some kind of white background to isolate the subject. Play with lighting and shadows. Aim for a finished piece (like someone would enlarge, print and sell for someone to buy to hang over a couch.)
This looks like you ran out of time and doesn't line up with what your process shot said you were working on. Not an AP portfolio piece.
