Materials: Nylon rope, black paper Ideas: I want to show life and growth on a background of darkness. Processes: I separated strands from the rope and made it branch out in appropriate places.

Ideas: I want to illustrate the machine like operation of a brain. The organized inner design is like an engine running, while the outer chaos represents messy disorder. Processes: I used a string and needle to make the inner pattern, and larger cord to Materials: I used poster board to provide a clean, neat background, and neon cord to match the string.
Good start: I am so excited for the way this idea is progressing.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you could use the paint color tool and match the white of the background, then drop the darker white onto the brighter white since the circle is so jagged.

Also, consider increasing the contrast so the shadows show. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI could see this with a different design (the foam boards I gave you) and different colors. Like the next could be reds and then blues that progress to a piece with all the colors that come together, like the piece we saw on your Pinterest board.
You might keep that in the back of your mind, no pun intended, for weeks when your workload is really busy, to have things to turn in. Keep in mind a beginning middle and end so maybe abstract to complicated or the other way around maybe?
Also, good composition, touching or going off on 3 sides (tangents) is a good rule of thumb.
